First of all, this week I will be joining co-moderators Sharon Michalove
and Terry Taylor in Chicago for the first H-Net Conference. There will no
doubt be many interesting developments arising from the conference which
we will pass along to you. The conference also gives the opportunity for
the latest member of our moderating team, Dave Postles from the University
of Leicester, to take over moderating duties for the first time. I will
let Dave introduce himself and confine myself to a warm welcome.
Secondly, a directory of H-Albion subscribers is now located in our gopher
at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne. It contains the names,
addresses, email addresses, affiliation information and research interests
of most H-Albion subscribers, with varying degrees of completeness. It is
currently broken up into four sections, with limited search capabilities.
We will work on improving the latter and also do our best to keep things
up to date. Please check your own listing to see if it is as complete as
you would like and free from errors. Send any corrections to the list
address (h-albion@uicvm.uic.edu).
To get there, go to the Illinois gophers in the U.S.A.. Then,

6. Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Campus Information/
9. Academic Information (College, School, Department, Centers,...)/
27. History/
1. H-Albion/
I have included a more detailed explanation below, as well as the main
directory page of what is actually in the H-Albion gopher. I have also
attached the two page sub-directory of what you will find under number 6.
Miscellaneous. We will repeat this message in the future and also
describe some of the other features you can find there.
Finally, thanks to everyone who filled in your membership survey forms.
They will be a great help in Chicago. To those who haven't sent their
form in, we would still be interested to hear from you.
