The QuickStart Template has been developed by Simon Price to meet the needs of
academics who wish to develop courseware without spending long hours learning
the fine details of ToolBook. A copy of the template will be given free of
charge to all participants.

This workshop introduces the ToolBook 3.0 widget system and how this can be
employed to create self-contained, reusable CAL components which require
little programming experience to use. Participants will be given sample CAL
widgets for use in their own authoring or as the basis for developing their
own widgets.

Both the above workshops will explore the concept of using objective tests and
feature hands-on work. Jay Dempster is a consultant in the University of
Warwick's Computing Services Department. Her research background is biomedical
and she was previously Manager for the CTI Centre for Biology.
