To take up the thread I started about two weeks ago, concerning the
composition of Stuart Parliaments, here is more information, and a
proposal which I hope to be able to fulfill within another couple of
weeks. As I was watching an STC 1 reel with a student who is working on
Parliaments, I came across a list of peers and a list of knights and
burgesses for the 1627/8 parliament.
I am almost ready to send the table of the counties from Saxton's
atlas, but would you be interested if I sent the list of the boroughs and
counties (I think it's not so necessary -and it would be much longer- to
type in the names of the MPs)? As I am checking these matters, I felt that
you might also be interested.
I am waiting for your reactions; I'll have to ask volunteers to
cross-read and counter-check the information (and the modernisation of the
spelling for place-names: it's tricky for smaller places).
Yours,
Luc
