PRO and Mervyn James

Can anyone help with either of the following questions?

1) While attending the AHA meeting in Chicago, I heard rumors that the transfer
of materials from the Chancery Lane PRO to Kew is moving rapidly enough that
the Chancery Lane PRO will be closed this summer and documents transferred to
Kew may not yet be accessible. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
I apologize for rumor mongering, but up-to-date information might be valuable
to anyone planning a visit to the PRO this summer. It is hard enough to think
of the Chancery Lane PRO closed at all, but even worse that it should happen so
soon.

2) Does anyone have an address for Mervyn James, the historian of the Tudor
North, and author of, among other things, Family, Lineage, and Civil Society? I
understand that he is retired and lives outside of Oxford, but I don't have a
precise address.

Thanks in advance for help with either question.
