Regarding the outrageous fees charged for money orders in Sterling--I've
found that many people will accept traveller's cheques. The exchange
rate isn't the best, but AAA will issue British pound traveller's cheques
without a fee if you're a member. Sometimes they have 100 pound minimums
but not always.
