Worldwide, there are 35,500 subscriptions to the 49 H-Net lists
in operation. Since some people read two or more lists, we
estimate that 25,000 different people are subscribers.
--H-Net growth has been remarkable:
Mar 1993: 100
Feb 1994: 6,800
May 1995: 26,200
Dec 1995: 35,500

If you have any problems or questions, send a note to

I want to thank all the subscribers for their support--and convey
in turn their thanks to the 140 (unpaid) editors around the world
who moderate the lists, and the 28 (paid) staff people at
Michigan State who handle the technical problems so smoothly.
Many of these folks will be at the HNET96 and AHA conventions in
Atlanta next month, so if you see one, don't lurk!
And a special round of thanks for the financial and
technical support we have received from the National Endowment
for the Humanities, Michigan State University, the Japan
Foundation, the Australian Government, the University of
Illinois, Austin Peay State University, Kansas State University,
Purdue University, U. Wisconsin-Eau Claire, U. of Saskatchewan,
and the 36 scholarly associations that cosponsor our lists.
