Last year I needed to send a check in pounds to London from a place far from the
money-center banks--Tallahassee, FL. I found that, for a $35 fee, they would
convert dollars to pounds and write a check from me, payable to (in my case) the
Public Record Office. It worked perfectly.
In your particular location, I couldn't recommend which bank to try first, but a
few phone calls should produce someone who understands what you're talking about
and is eager to skin you for the outrageous fee they charge.
