Every August 22 the Richard III Society places the following notice in the
London Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Manchester Guardian, and other
newspapers in England:
PLANTAGENET, Richard. Remember before God Richard III, King of England, and
those who fell at Bosworth Field, having kept faith, 22nd August 1485.
Loyaulte me lie.
It seems only fitting to extend this custom to embrace the electronic media.
This year we honor not only the fallen at Bosworth but also the late George
Awdry, author of this notice and first chronicler of the history of the
Richard III Society. Awdry took pains to write an In Memoriam Notice that
honored the fallen on both sides.
