1996 RCSC Lecturer: Stephen Greenblatt

**The Renaissance Conference of Southern California is pleased to
announce that the keynote address at the 1996 Southwest Regional
Renaissance Conference will be delivered by Stephen Greenblatt. Prof.
Greenblatt's lecture, entitled "The Wound in the Wall," concerns the
representation of Jews.

**Abstracts for papers (reading length 20 minutes) or proposals for
sessions are invited from scholars in all disciplines related to
Renaissance studies.

**Submissions (including a telephone number and /or e-mail address)
should be sent to: Prof. Renee Pigeon, Dept. of English, CSU San
Bernardino, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407, for
receipt no later than January 19, 1996. E-mail submissions are also
encouraged: rpigeon@wiley.csusb.edu.

** Responses from the Program Committee will be sent in early February.
Should you require an earlier response in order to secure travel funding,
please indicate your deadline when submitting your abstract.

**The Renaissance Conference of Southern California will award travel
assistance to one graduate student and one full-time faculty member or
independent scholar. Please inquire regarding applications for these
awards, funded by RCSC patrons and members.

**Submission of an abstract or session proposal which is accepted by the
Program Committee signifies your willingness to make every effort to
attend the conference and present your paper.
