I need scarcely underline in this forum of all places the
limitations of official press releases.... Nevertheless, it
may at times be helpful to people working on British government
and politics to know that our government is now putting press
releases on the Net URL http://www.coi.gov.uk/coi/depts/deptlist.html

The number of departments having some sort of presence is increasing
steadily - the Department for Education appeared this week, along
with a paper on education and the information superhighway - but it
is still the case that most are token holdings only at the
general government site of http://www.open.gov.uk/
