I suggest beginning your secondary reading with the works of Michael
Hogan. You may also find it fruitful to contact Thomas Camden, Archivist at
the George C. Marshall Library, Lexington, VA for information about their
holdings. Their collections in original and secondary materials are vast and
the archival staff extremely accommodating.
