Kino videos of New York market a great series of documentaries from the
interwar period, by figures such as John Grierson, Humphrey Jennings, et
alia, and with the collaboration of WH Auden and Benjamin Britten, films
such as Night Mail, Coal Face, and Industrial Britain, which I have found
are excellent in discussing the representation of the working class and
ideas of national identity. The same company also markets WWII films
such as Fires Were Started, Listen to Britain, and A Diary for Timothy.
