Recently, someone asked on the list for references on 18th century
(?) smuggling. I've come across the following reference which may be
of interest, if whoever was asking is still asking!
Schmidt, Peter R. and Stephen A. Mrozowski. 1988. "Documentary
Insights into the archaeology of Smuggling," in _Documentary
Archaeology in the New World_, ed. Mary C. Beaudry. Cambridge:
Cambridge University Press. (New Directions in Archaeology series).
It deals with New England area, and so will have interest to this
list, I'm sure.
