In the mid-1530s, two men plotted to kill Henry VIII and Thomas
Cromwell. They hired a man to go to a house where the King and
Cromwell were lodging for the night and throw "fireballs" at it,
thus "killing them all." The plot was discovered and the assault
never took place.
Any thoughts on what these "fireballs" might have been and how
they might have been employed?
