I am looking for references that discuss conservation efforts and policy
(especially terracing, planting grass or trees) imposed by Kenya's colonial
government on Kenyans living in the reserves. I am particularly
interested in references that discuss these policies in terms of gender.
I understand that Kenyan women in protest removed the grass that they were
forced to plant. Does anyone have a reference for that incident or other
related ones? Thanks in advance.
