Re: the apllicability of the post/modern nomenclature to Africa. A
first question to address might be whether we are talking of post-modernism
as a style of presentation (I come from a literature background and so
frequently see the po-mo term applied in that way) or as a term for a
condition of the modes of relation and communication. I tend to favor the
latter definition. The continued application of "modern" to designate
industrialized, post-colonial Africa carries it's own problems.
