I probably should have mentioned in my earlier posting about BBC
Africa News that the regular BBC news broadcasts to North America
also are much more likely to contain news about Africa than any of
our domestic services, and you're much more likely to be able to
pick them up on a regular basis.

Particularly good times for news are an hour-long edition at 1300 GMT
(which is 8am CDT) on the frequencies 9515 and/or 11865; and, half-
hour editions at 2200 GMT (5 pm CDT), 0000 (7 pm CDT), or 0100 (8 pm
CDT) on 5975, 6175, 7325, and/or 9590.

Also, for anyone who has a satellite dish, I'm told that the BBC is
often available on Satcom C3, 131 degrees West, C-Span transponder,
vertical polarization, 3.840 GHz on an audio subcarrier frequency of
5.41 MHz (whatever that means; I don't speak satellite yet).
