I have used selected chapters from George Ayittey's book *Africa
Betrayed* and would like to know how members of this list evaluate
his book. While Ayittey's approach is very bitter, it does seem to
mirror the frustration which many Africans have about the political
situation in much of Africa. As one who has taught in Nigeria, I
hesitate to present a negative picture of African politics to my
students; yet I need to communicate clearly some of the problems
troubling the continent. What is your advice?
