Dear Jose: my latest book on Cape Verde (Westview Press) details the links from
West Africa to Brazil, especially during the period of the Marquis of Pombal
and to the Brazilian states of Grao Para and Maranhao. Natturally the best
place to look for African links in Brazil is in Salvador. Have a nice day,
