Would it be improper to seek a sampling of definitions and perspectives
for historicism from the listmembers here? I am baffled by the concept.
Though I seem to have some grasp of historicism as a determinant concept,
I see it being used in ways that make it seem far more benign--more as
a contextualizing agent that a determining one. Can I get some help from
the historians on the list, please?--mary lanser
