We have received the following books for review:

1. Curtin et al, African History from Earliest Times to Independence, 2nd
ed. New York: Longman, 1995.

We have three copies, and are interested in reviewers teaching at a research
university, a small college or community college, and a high school.

2. Robert Vitalis, When Capitalists Collide. Berkeley: University of
California, Press, 1995.

This book concentrates on business interests in Egypt from the 19th
century to Nasser's revolution. It stresses the paramouncy of economic
over nationalist interests.

3. Curto and Gervais, eds., Bibliography of Canadian Master's Theses
and Doctoral Dissertations on Africa 1905-1993. Montreal: Canadian
Association for African Studies, 1994.

While we do not limit the length of reviews, they should not be
overly long, and they should be well paragraphed, given the electronic
format we use. Reviews are due six weeks after receipt of book. In some
cases, we may ask the author to provide a commentary on your review.
