They won a partial victory. Fred Cooper has an article on an earlier
strike (1946) in the Canadian Journal of African Studies. Jean
Suret-Canale has an on La greve des cheminots d'AOF in Cahiers
d'Histoire 28 (1978), 82-122.... abrdiged in Peter Gutkind et al, African
