I am teaching a graduate seminar this fall on Discourse and
Representation in African History. Besides using my own corpus of
work, I have worked up a reading list comprising the usual suspects:
Said, Curtin, Miller, Bhaba, Foucault, Chomsky, Schneider, and the
like--even Lugard. I am certain that all of us have relevant favorite
works in our special fields--which I obviously do not know--that
would offer much to my seminar.
I would be pleased to know of such works and to place them on my
course outline. When replying, please tell me in a few sentences why
you deem your citation relevant. I shall reciprocate your help by
putting my seminar syllabus on-line for your delectation and
criticism.
