In reading H-Africa these last weeks, I've seen a number of
complimentary references to *Sources of the African Past*. It is,
incidentally, out of print, though there may be a few copies in the
Holmes & Meier warehouse.

But my question is: should it be reprinted? should it be re-edited and
brought out in a new edition? My colleague, who works in consulting in
NYC, might be able to provide support for the revision process.

I am not really interested in a reprinting. If we were to revise, I
would like to add one more case study, perhaps a late 19th century
Ethiopian one, that ends without European conquest, but would still be in
keeping with the political superstructure of the other cases.

I would appreciate reactions about the utility of revising, suggestions
about the orientation, the "aids to understanding" and newly available
source material that might be brought in. Or Anything else.
