Modern American History. Spring Hill College seeks qualified candidates for an assistant professorship in Modern American History to begin August 2021. This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment with a 4x4 teaching load. Applicants must have PhD in American history. The ideal candidate will be able to teach both lower- and upper-level courses in American history since the Civil War, and also be able to offer courses in at least one of the following fields: Latin American History, African-American History, or Public History. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching; in addition, effective scholarship, advising, and service to the college are required. Spring Hill College, situated on the Gulf Coast, was founded in 1830 and is the oldest Catholic college in the Southeast. The college is committed to the Jesuit tradition of excellence in education and caring for the whole person - mind, body, and spirit - as well as forming students to become responsible leaders in service to others.
