Job Description:
The Department of History at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in U.S History with an emphasis in Public History, to begin Fall 2021. Candidate must have a PhD in History with experience/ training in Public History.
We prefer candidates with at least one of the following primary research fields (periodization open):
- Borderlands (preferably with a focus on race and ethnicity)
- Women/ Gender/ Sexuality
WSU's Department of History has an active Public History Minor that oversees student interns placed in local and state organizations and archives. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. The teaching load is four courses per semester.

Completed Ph.D. in History is required prior to appointment on July 1, 2021.
Job Duties:
Teach 12 credit hours (4 courses) per semester in US history, oversee Public History program, and advise and mentor students.
