The Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University invites applications for a two-year, non-renewable, residential post-doctoral fellowship in Critical Native American and Indigenous Studies, beginning in the September 1, 2020. We welcome a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to): history, politics and political theory, English literature and comparative literature, anthropology, sociology, literature, religion, language, material and visual culture, aesthetic practices, gender and sexuality, law, environmental and resource management, decolonization. The Fellow will be appointed as a post-doctoral research scholar in the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race (CSER) http://www.cser.columbia.edu/.
The fellow will pursue their own research and writing and teach one course per semester while participating in programming at CSER and the rich intellectual life at Columbia. The fellowship includes a salary of $ $64,376 plus benefits, moving expenses (approximately $1,500), and a research fund of $4,000 per year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand by August 31, 2020, received within the past three years.
