Job Summary:
The Department of History of Drexel University announces a one-year position at the rank of visiting assistant professor (non-tenure track) in the areas of Environmental History, History of Technology, and/or the History of Capitalism. The committee will particularly welcome candidates focusing on histories of the Global South and/or making use of innovative historical methods that challenge the conventional textual archive.
Essential Functions:
Teaching one team-taught course and three other courses in environmental history, history of technology, and/or the history of capitalism.
Continuing scholarly research in creative and new methods, including but not limited to public history and archives, film, audio, and visual arts, environmental education and environmental humanities.
Work closely with History faculty in activities related to the department's expanding portfolio of research and teaching
Required Qualifications
PhD, Environmental History, History of Technology, and/or the History of Capitalism.
Other Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a PhD by September 1, 2020
