Job Summary/Description
The History Department at Angelo State University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in United States history, with a specialization in Texas history beginning in Fall 2020.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
A tenure-track assistant professor of History is expected to teach four courses a semester, typically three sections of U.S. survey (both halves) and one advanced course. The University offers a minor in Mexican American Studies, to which the person hired for this position would contribute. Tenure track faculty are also expected to be engaged professionally with their disciplines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate should be able to teach an array of upper division courses that cover the pre-Hispanic period to the present, as well as both halves of the U.S. history survey. Applicant should have a PhD in history or related field at the time of employment.

PhD in history or related field at the time of employment.
