Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of History beginning August 2020. Area of specialization is open (other than the Americas). Broad training and ability to teach a variety of classes is a must. The successful applicant will also have digital humanities and/or public history expertise, as well as successful teaching experience and a commitment to undergraduate liberal education. Westminster’s normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per year – typically three courses per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities include introductory liberal education (WCore) History courses as well as upper-division undergraduate courses in the successful candidate's area of specialization. They will complement current faculty expertise and help develop curriculum within the History program and WCore. Depending on specialization, there will likely be opportunities to teach in affiliated, interdisciplinary programs, such as Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, and Justice Studies.
