The Department of History at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track appointment in modern Asian history at the rank of assistant professor to begin August 16, 2020. Area of specialization is open (East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, transregional/transnational).
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the excellence and diversity of the Department’s intellectual community by: 1) maintaining an active research and publication agenda, 2) teaching four courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level in Asian history and thematic areas of expertise, and 3) providing service to the department, the university, and the profession.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package. Candidates must hold the Ph.D. by the starting date.
