The Role
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a programme of high quality research and publication and to contribute actively to the discipline’s teaching programme. Your research will be in the field of New Zealand and/or Pacific history. Preference may be given to candidates who explore connections and interactions between New Zealand and the Pacific. You will be expected to teach and supervise in New Zealand and Pacific history.
You will also be required to contribute to team-taught 100-and 200-level courses outside of your specialist research field(s). The successful candidate will supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects and assume appropriate responsibilities at Programme, School and University levels.
This is a full-time, permanent (confirmation path) position.
Your Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be expected to have:
- A PhD degree.
- An active research portfolio as evidenced by quality publications in New Zealand and/or Pacific history.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at tertiary level.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A strong commitment to developing collaborative working relationships with colleagues.
