Ball State University’s Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track position in public history available August 2020. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in public history, directing internships in public history and teaching in other areas of specialization, as well as survey courses in either United States or World history.
Minimum qualifications: ABD in public history; Ph. D. in public history, from an accredited college or university by August 10, 2020; must have active research agenda.
Employer will consider sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in public history; teaching experience at the college or university level; experience working with museums, historical sites and/or historical societies; interest in using digital approaches that help distill historical meaning from texts and artifacts, and in public engagement.
