Courses are also taught online and at several other locations in New Jersey.
Job Description:
World History. The History & Politics Department at Georgian Court University seeks a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in World History with a primary field in World History; or in the history of Asia, Latin America, or Middle East; or in the history of modern Europe (1500-1900), beginning Spring 2020. Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load (including the two-semester World History survey and a willingness and ability to teach a broad range of courses), advising, mentoring, scholarship, and service to the department and university. A PhD in history is required by the start of the appointment; ABDs close to completion may be considered. The deadline for applications is August 5, 2019. Preliminary interviews will be conducted via Skype, FaceTime, or telephone; finalists will be invited to campus.
Essential Functions:
- Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
- Regularly participate in course assessment and program assessment and be willing to make improvements in teaching/advising.
- Teach at the Lakewood campus, off site locations or in the evening.
- Teach in lecture, online, or hybrid modalities, if needed.
- Be willing to teach in The Bridge General education program in department or university-wide offerings.
- Collaborate with colleagues regarding course materials (developing or using common syllabi/course outlines).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
