History Associates (HAI) is excited to announce openings for temporary archivists to join a dynamic team to work on processing a collection of a former elected government official. If you meet the qualifications below and commit to a one year project, this is the position for you.
Positions are full-time temporary
Positions located in DC, MD area
Job Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of a project manager, the archivists will be responsible for processing a collection of an elected government official. Tasks include photographing and inventorying client memorabilia, packing records and memorabilia and running quality control for internal consistency and accuracy. Attention to detail is a must. The position will involve both working independently and as a team member with History Associates and client staff.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree in Library or Information Science, History, or other applicable field
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of experience working on archives projects
• Strong Attention to detail
• Proven experience working as part of a large team
Preferred Experience
• Demonstrated practical knowledge of archival policies and procedures
• Familiarity with congressional records
• Strong writing and verbal communications
