The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and Studies at Temple University invites qualified candidates to apply to teach two sections of an Asian Studies version of the general education course, World Society in Literature and Film, in the 2019 fall semester. The two sections will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The instructor will be able to choose whether to limit the course to a single country in one of the three regions covered by Asian Studies (East Asian, Southeast Asian, or South Asian), or teach the course more broadly as a survey of one of the three regions.
The position requires a candidate to have an advanced degree related to Asian Studies, experience teaching undergraduates, and academic knowledge of the modern literature and cinema of at least one of the countries in the regions relevant to Asian Studies.
