Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, seeks an historian in the field of Early Modern European history to teach two courses for the 2019-20 academic year. PhD preferred but ABD also invited to apply. The position requires two courses that may be taught in consecutive semesters or, alternately, in the same semester.
One course should deal with the history of gender in early modern Europe, with a focus on the relationship between gender hierarchies and other forms of social marginalization (e.g. slavery, religion, class, etc.). The other course may be of the applicant’s choosing.
