Erna B. Rosenfeld Professorship
Indiana University seeks to fill the new position of the Erna B. Rosenfeld Professorship. The successful applicant will be a scholar with exceptional qualifications and expertise in teaching and research in the area of contemporary antisemitism in Germany and modern Europe. Experience in working alongside organizations and state bodies engaged in developing responses to antisemitism is desirable.
The position will be at the level of associate professor and held jointly between the Department of Germanic Studies and the Borns Jewish Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful applicant will be expected to offer courses on antisemitism within the Jewish Studies Program, and on contemporary German society including issues of migration, refugees, and xenophobia in Germanic Studies. As well as being able to teach courses in the German language, high level competence in an additional European language is desirable. PhD or equivalent rank required.
In addition to teaching and engaging in scholarship, the holder of the professorship will receive a course release to assist in the development of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, directed by Alvin Rosenfeld.
