The successful candidate may have the opportunity to apply for a tentative tenure-track position that is anticipated to be approved starting in the Fall of 2020.

Our current full-time faculty have research interests in cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeology and conduct research in North America, South America, East Asia, East Africa, and the Mediterranean. We emphasize student engagement in research through methods courses, our three laboratories—biological anthropology, environmental archaeology, and classical archaeology—and department-run field schools in cultural anthropology and archaeology. Opportunities exist to collaborate with faculty and students in Health Studies, Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies, Africana Studies, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Food Studies, and other college programs. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
