The Department of History at Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a one-year visiting position in African history, beginning Fall Semester 2019. The rank will be Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, depending on qualifications. Candidates should have or be close to completing the Ph.D. Teaching experience is required. Teaching load is 3/2 and may include participation in the College’s general education requirement, “Connections.” The successful candidate will teach both halves of a survey of African history, as well as topics courses in areas of expertise. Those with experience teaching courses in the history of the Atlantic World or the African Diaspora are especially urged to apply.
