Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in History beginning fall semester of 2019. Minimum qualification includes a graduate degree in history. Preference will be given to candidates with a broad background in the history of western civilization, although a broad background in U.S. history is also of interest.
This position includes teaching 15 contact hours per semester of assigned classes, which may include teaching evening or weekend hours and at campus locations throughout the district and possibly online; preparing course syllabi and lessons; guiding and assisting students; keeping accurate records of student performance and making timely submission of academic records; providing students with timely feedback; maintaining office hours; participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success; developing, integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of the College’s ongoing accreditation; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment.
The Department of Social Sciences consists of 20 full-time and 47 adjunct faculty and delivers more than 500 sections of instruction annually in the Social Sciences. Members of the department advise several student organizations. In addition to the facilities for the Child Development Center, the department has 2 computerized classrooms/labs, and 11 “smart” classrooms equipped with CPU DVD and, for some rooms, a SMART Board. All Classrooms and faculty offices also have Internet access via a T-1 line and are part of a campus local area network.
Starting salary is determined by education level and experience and will be between $43,578 and $78,367. The college provides an excellent fringe benefit package and is supportive of faculty development. Opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching assignments.
