The Oklahoma State University Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Native American and United States history beginning August 2019. We seek applicants with research and teaching expertise in both Native American and United States history during the Early Republic and Antebellum eras. Ph.D. required at time of employment. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and publications.
Teaching responsibilities include lower-division surveys, upper-division courses, and graduate seminars. The teaching load is 2/2.
Duties also include innovative and sustained peer-reviewed research and service to the department, college, and university. Conference travel funding and research support is available.
Candidates will be expected to support the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds, integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods, and demonstrate a commitment to engaging communities underrepresented in the academy. Candidates will demonstrate an ability to serve as a core faculty member for the American Indian Studies program.
