POSITION: The History program of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Western State Colorado University invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track Lecturer position in European History beginning August 2018. The successful candidate must be a broadly-trained historian of Europe, Early Modern and/or Modern. Teaching load is 24 semester credits per academic year (4 courses per semester) and involves advising undergraduates and assisting with program development and the History League Student Association. Candidates should illustrate a willingness to pursue professional development and provide support for committee service if called upon.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary range is 38,000-39,000. Benefits include an employee/employer shared contribution retirement plan and life and health insurance.
START DATE: August 2018
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in European history is preferred but ABD will be considered for appointment. Sub-Specialties are desired and open outside of the fields of Latin America and Africa. Expertise with and interest in application of digital tools in the humanities is of interest. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to a liberal arts undergraduate education, and to excellence in teaching and a willingness to work with and advise students of diverse backgrounds
