The Department of History at the United States Naval Academy is seeking applications for the Class of 1957 Chair of Naval Heritage for a 10-month period over the 2018-2019 academic term. The successful applicant will possess a distinguished record of published scholarship in Naval or Marine Corps history (any era, any field) and be an accomplished classroom instructor. Class of 1957 Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Naval Heritage:
The Department of History at the United States Naval Academy is seeking applications for the Class of 1957 Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Naval Heritage for a 10-month period over the 2018-2019 academic term. The successful applicant will possess a recent PhD in history, with a well-defined and focused on-going research project in naval or Marine Corps history (any era, any field) and be an accomplished classroom instructor. The Class of 57 PostDoc will teach one class per semester of either American Naval History or a in the instructor's field. The fellow will also participate actively in the Department, especially as a resource for other instructors of naval/Marine Corps history. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on November 13 until the position is filled.

Dr. Leo A. Shifrin Chair
Applications are invited to fill the Dr. Leo A. Shifrin Chair, a distinguished visiting professorship endowed by the Viola S. Shifrin Trust in 1997, for a 10-month period over the 2018-2019 academic term. Holders of the Shifrin Chair are distinguished naval and military historians of any branch, specialty, or period who teach and pursue research while at USNA. The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is a four-year undergraduate institution with a mission to prepare midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically for commissioning as officers in the naval services. The search committee will start reviewing the applications on November 13 until the position is filled.
