The Department of History and Political Science at Nazareth College of Rochester invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Legal Studies and History. Applicants for this position must have earned two degrees: (1) J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school; and (2) Ph.D. [preferred] or M.A. [considered] in History or related discipline with a strong focus on historical study and analysis.
The area of expertise in Legal Studies is open but the successful candidate will be able to teach Introduction to Law, Legal Writing and Research, Philosophy and Sociology of Law, Senior Seminar in Legal Studies, as well as upper-level electives in the areas of candidate’s expertise. Preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach civil rights or human rights law courses. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will serve as the Director of Legal Studies and accelerated B.A./J.D. programs.
The area of specialization in History is open but the successful candidate will be able to teach introductory survey courses in History, as well as upper-level electives in the areas of candidate’s expertise.
