United States History. The Department of History and Political Science of Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year lectureship to teach our lower-division course in United States history (HIST 1700) beginning in Fall 2017. The lecturer should have experience teaching large-section classes (75 students or more) at the university level and demonstrate innovative pedagogy in such classes. Ph.D. in United States history is required; chronological period and area of specialization is open. Beyond salary, the position includes a benefits package. UVU is a comprehensive state university focusing on teaching and scholarship and serves approximately 33,000 undergraduates. The campus is located on the Wasatch Front mountain range near Salt Lake City.
