Position Summary
The Department of Ethnic Studies in the School of Cultural and Critical Studies invites applications for a non-tenure-track (renewable) position in the area of Native American Studies. Starting date is August 2017. Finalist will teach general education courses in the department such as Introduction to Ethnic Studies as well as courses in Native American Studies.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach general education courses in the department including Introduction to Ethnic Studies (ETHN 1010), Introduction to Native American Studies (ETHN 1600), Contemporary Issues in Native America (ETHN 2600), and Native Americans in Film (ETHN 2300) as well as have an opportunity to teach and/or to develop other courses within the department. Service to the department, school, college, university, and/or profession is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with First Nations, Native American, and/or indigenous populations. Have appropriate experience in teaching undergraduate general education courses. Ph.D. in appropriate discipline preferred. ABD in appropriate discipline required. All ABD candidates must have a Master’s degree. Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness in Ethnic Studies, Native American Studies, or related fields and experience teaching general education cultural diversity courses is preferred.
