U.S. History/History Liaison for Dual Enrollment Programs. The Department of History at Washington State University (Tri-Cities campus) invites applications for an Assistant Clinical Professor in the field of U.S. History with training and/or experience in World history. The appointment is for two years and may be renewable. The successful candidate will have a 20% teaching appointment and will teach one History course per semester on the Tri-Cities campus, and an 80% appointment serving as History Liaison to the university’s College in the High School program. The Liaison will be the main line of contact between the Department of History and the high school teachers in the Program. Duties include the recruitment, training, mentoring, assessment, and evaluation of high school teachers, as well as site visits, program management, assistance with professional development, and service duties related to the Department’s participation in the College in the High School program. Ph.D. in History is required at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level. Experience with K-12 teaching preferred. Since this position requires the ability to travel, the candidate must have, or be able to obtain, a valid unrestricted driver’s license at time of hire.
