Pro Vice-Chancellor Arts and Law
The University of Tasmania, founded in 1890, is ranked in the top two percent of universities worldwide and in the top ten research universities in Australia. The newly formed College of Arts and Law – comprising Schools of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Tasmanian College of the Arts, the Faculty of Law, and several research institutes - brings together groups with strong reputations for leading edge teaching and research that responds to local needs and addresses globally significant issues.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor provides strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the College’s research and research training, research-led teaching and learning, professional activities and community engagement.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor will bring to the College high level academic credibility, enthusiasm and team leadership skills as well as demonstrated skills in managing the people, financial and infrastructure performance of the College. The Pro Vice-Chancellor will drive the student experience within the College with a focus on growing student numbers, improving student outcomes and enhancing student life on campus. The Pro Vice-Chancellor will have responsibility and oversight of the accreditation and delivery of the College’s professional degrees.
The position is based in Hobart and is offered for a fixed term of five years, renewable by agreement.
