The Faculty for the Study of Culture invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3)
of Japanese Studies
(Chair)
commencing on October 1st, 2019.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent research and teaching abilities in the field of modern and contemporary Japanese Studies with a broad perspective on society, politics and intellectual history. We have a particular interest in candidates with a record in transnational research focusing on modern and contemporary Japan in East Asian and/or global contexts. Proficiency in Japanese and substantial research in East Asia are prerequisites. Candidates are expected to participate in existing and future interdisciplinary research clusters.
Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program.
